In-Home Support Staff

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location(s):                     Menlo Park, Hayward, Newark,

                                        Santa Clara, Milpitas,  Cupertino, San José, Saratoga

Reports To:                      Executive Director, Associate Director

Consults With:                 Staff Coach

Pay:                                 $20-$35 per hour, depending on experience

Work Status:                    Part-time/Full-time

Position Summary

The position of In-Home Support Staff is a unique opportunity for professionals interested in a
career in education, mental health, behavioral health, childcare or other related service to gain
meaningful hands-on experience. Most home programs are 3pm-7pm with weekend flexibility.
Some home programs might be during the typical school hours. All materials, curriculum, and
training will be provided by Open Mind Center for Brain & Behavior.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • ​Follow an individual treatment plan based on individual assessments.

  • Keep the child(ren) motivated and engaged.

  • Provide support for social skills group, and individual programming.

  • Under the direction of the BCBA you might be responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing lesson plans.

  • Help students follow safe and appropriate independent living, hygiene, and toileting routines.

  • Be on time at the beginning of your shift and when returning from breaks.

  • Attend team meetings.

  • Assist with providing regular, ongoing, positive communication with parents, including but not
    limited to, daily or weekly written and verbal reports.

  • Direct questions from parents as needed to the clinical director.

  • Administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Attire is Smart Casual and no perfume please

  • Have fun and be creative!

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills

  • Proficiency with writing and communication

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Work well in teams

  • Completion of undergraduate degree preferred

  • Completion or openness to completing a 40-hour RBT training course
