Duties may include

  • Implement and support group lessons as guided by the lead facilitator or educator

  • Lead social activities

  • Engage in set up and clean up throughout the day

  • Support interaction between students

  • Implement behavior strategies to maintain prosocial and expected behaviors

  • Support attention and sensory regulation for all students

  • Provide one on one support if necessary to students who benefit from extra support to attend, engage, or cooperate in group activities

  • Maintain the safety of the students at all times

  • Use child-centered and respectful language with students

  • Reliable and committed to all days they sign up

  • Positive and creative

  • Have experience with children with and without learning differences

  • Manage children in a high energy environment and support their engagement

  • Excited to learn from this program and bring helpful ideas to the table

  • Able to take the lead and able to follow directions

School Volunteer

​

Duties may include

  • Write and share notes on each child’s daily activities and participation

  • Support interaction between students

  • Implement behavior strategies to maintain prosocial and cooperative behaviors

  • Support attention and sensory regulation for all students

  • Provide one on one support if necessary to students who benefit from extra support to attend, engage, or cooperate in group activities

  • Maintain the safety of the students at all times

  • Use child-centered and respectful language with students

Graphic Design Intern

​

Duties may include

  • Interpreting the organization’s business needs and developing a concept to compliment our mission

  • Designing company flyers, brochures, promotional materials

  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts

  • Using innovation to redefine a design within the constraints of cost and time

  • Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to the organization

  • Working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer design

  • Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work

  • Working on layouts and artworking pages ready for print

  • Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.

Ideal Person:

  • Academic and/or work experience related to the field of graphic design

  • Experience or willingness to be trained on specialized software and photoshop

Open Mind School is also a field placement for many colleges and universities around the Bay so there's a possibility of counting volunteer hours toward your program of study.
