Learner Readiness Program
Open Mind School is proud to offer our Learner Readiness Program (LRP), launched in
2021, to support local schools and children transitioning from distance learning to
in-person education. Over the years, LRP has evolved to provide comprehensive
individualized support services, tutoring, and skill-building sessions designed to prepare
various learners for diverse educational environments, including complementing
homeschooling programs.
Program Overview:
At LRP, students arrive at our Menlo Park campus equipped with their school supplies,which might include iPads, Chromebooks, and/or traditional learning materials. Each student is paired with a dedicated specialist who works one-on-one or in small group settings.
Our goal is to help students access academic content while developing essential school readiness skills such as:
● Task completion
● Following directions
● School organization
● Multi-step direction processing
Specialized Support Services:
In addition to core readiness skills, students can benefit from specialized support services, including:
● Occupational Therapy
● Speech Therapy
● Counseling
● Behavior Regulation Services
● Mental Health Support Services
Our team collaborates closely with families to tailor the best support setup for each student.
Program Options:
The LRP is flexible, offering sessions from drop in open gym 30-minute blocks to multi-hour after school tutoring, social, and movement experiences. The LRP is available Monday-Friday 3-5pm.
Enrollment and Financial Aid:
To enroll in the LRP, please contact us at advisor@openmindschool.org. A team member will collaborate with your family to determine which package may best support the student’s goals. Program packages are outlined below. We strive to make our program accessible to all families with financial aid and scholarships are available for those who qualify.
